Powers and Duties of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University

By virtue of the Rajabhat University Act B.E. 2547, Chapter 1, General Provisions, Section 7, the university shall be an institution of higher education for local development that enhances the intellectual power of the country, revives learning, honors local wisdom, creates arts and sciences for stable and sustainable progress of the people, and participates in the management, maintenance, and utilization of natural resources and the environment in a balanced and sustainable manner.

The objectives are to provide education, promote academic and advanced professions, conduct teaching and research, provide academic services to society, improve, transfer, and develop technology, nurture arts and culture, produce teachers, and promote teacher qualifications.

Section 8: In order to achieve the objectives under Section 7, the duties of the university are as follows:

(1) To seek truth for academic excellence based on local wisdom, Thai wisdom, and universal wisdom.

(2) To produce graduates with knowledge and morality, who are aware of their Thai identity, love and are attached to their locality, and to promote lifelong learning in the community to help local people keep up with changes.

(3) To enhance knowledge and understanding of value, awareness, and pride in local and national cultures.

(4) To educate and strengthen community leaders, religious leaders, and local politicians to have democratic consciousness, morality, ethics, and the ability to manage and develop communities and local areas for public benefit.

(5) To strengthen the teaching profession, produce and develop teachers and educational personnel to have quality and standards appropriate for high-level professions.

(6) To coordinate cooperation and mutual assistance between universities, communities, local administrative organizations, and other organizations both domestically and internationally for local development.

(7) To study and seek ways to develop local technology and modern technology appropriate for the lives and occupations of local people, including seeking ways to promote management, maintenance, and utilization of natural resources and the environment in a balanced and sustainable manner.

(8) To study, research, promote, and continue projects resulting from royal initiatives in the implementation of the university's missions for local development.

Furthermore, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University must carry out its roles, powers, duties, and responsibilities in accordance with the Civil Service Act in Higher Education Institutions B.E. 2547 and its amendments (No. 2) B.E. 2551, as well as the Civil Service Commission regulations, announcements, and other relevant laws in effect.
