Activities to promote a mechanism for creating cooperation in career development for those entering old age and the elderly

On June 13, 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Anchana Suksomjit, Deputy Dean for Research and Development, Graduate School, as the project leader, led the research team to organize activities in the research project "Development of essential career skills through online learning for those who are entering the elderly age and the elderly" at the Khuang Nang Lae Meeting Room (School for the Elderly), Nang Lae Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province, supported by research funding from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT).

❄️Lecturer Ms. Phichitra Thammasatit gave a lecture on making your own products, developing products for the market, increasing the value of products for occupational groups by teaching product photography and promoting products for the elderly in a simple way for them to be practically used, along with inserting ideas for creating unique local identities. And introduce online learning media and how to study on the Happy Boomer website

This activity focuses on promoting and developing vocational skills for the elderly and those who are entering old age through online learning technology, the Happy Boomer website, including training in making their own products and developing products for the market to prepare for a quality aging society and to promote careers, generate income, and boost morale for the elderly and those who are entering retirement age.

???? The project "Activity to promote a mechanism for creating cooperation in career development for those who are entering old age and the elderly" is consistent with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which can be summarized as follows:

???? SDG 1: No Poverty

Promoting careers and generating income for the elderly helps reduce the economic vulnerability of the target group, reduce dependency, and support continuous income after retirement.

???? SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being

Activities that focus on participation and skills training help promote mental health and enthusiasm in the elderly. Enables active aging and reduces the risk of depression and chronic diseases from unemployment.

???? SDG 4: Quality Education

Vocational skills training is a form of lifelong learning that responds to the needs of older people who still have the potential to learn and develop themselves.

???? SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

Supporting work in older people increases economic participation, promotes self-employment, and creates economic opportunities at the household and community level.

???? SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities

This project helps reduce economic and social gaps between different age groups, especially the elderly in rural or remote areas who often lack opportunities to develop careers and access resources.

???? SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals

The project integrates partnerships from various sectors, such as government agencies, local administrative organizations, community organizations, and academic institutions, reflecting the strengthening of cooperation in driving sustainable development in a tangible way.
