"Peer Support" Workshop to Boost Cyber Security Among the Elderly

On June 5, 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anchana Suksomjit, Deputy Dean for Research and Development, Graduate School, in collaboration with Don Han Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province, organized a workshop entitled "Peer Support for Cyber Security Prevention Among the Elderly" under a research project funded by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT).

The activity aimed to promote awareness among the elderly regarding online threats such as SMS scams, fraudulent money transfers, fake news, application security settings, and personal data protection. Using a "peer support" learning process, the elderly exchanged experiences and practiced through simulated scenarios, enabling them to apply the knowledge in their daily lives.

This activity helps build confidence in using technology safely, reduces the risk of cyber threats, and supports the Sustainable Development Goals in health, lifelong learning, reducing inequality, creating safe communities, and a sustainable digital society.
