SSRU Graduate School Advances International Academic Collaboration Through Classroom Innovation
Assistant Professor Dr. Sasiporn Phongploenpis, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Graduate School, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University (SSRU), opened her classroom to welcome Dr. Allison Witt, Director of the Office of International Programs and Teaching Associate Professor in Education Policy, Organization and Leadership from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, together with undergraduate and postgraduate students from the College of Education, to observe an IELTS Speaking and Listening class at SSRU Demonstration School.
The delegation from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, who are preparing to begin their teaching internships in Thailand, expressed interest in learning about educational practices, classroom dynamics, and diverse teaching methodologies within the Thai educational context.
For this Grade 12 class, Assistant Professor Dr. Sasiporn Phongploenpis designed the lesson to allow the observers to actively participate in classroom activities, particularly during speaking practice sessions. Their involvement helped create an open, enjoyable, and interactive learning environment while also promoting meaningful intercultural learning experiences for the students.
This academic exchange reflects the Graduate School’s commitment to supporting educational quality, strengthening international collaboration, and advancing innovative pedagogical practices aligned with global standards.
