Research Project:
Development of Online Learning Media to
Promote Digital Citizenship Skills Among
the Elderly
On February 20th,
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anchana Suksomjit,
Deputy Dean for Research and
Development, conducted a digital
literacy outreach program for the
elderly in the Ratchathani Village
community and Bang Kapi district,
Bangkok, under a project funded by the
National Research Council of Thailand
(NRCT).
The project aims to
disseminate media to the elderly to
enhance their understanding of
technology-related issues and solutions,
and to develop digital citizenship
content specifically for them.
Activities included disseminating short
dramas and presenting the causes,
behaviors, solutions, and prevention
methods of media and social media
use.
This project aligns with
sustainable development principles,
including promoting the health and
quality of life of the elderly,
supporting lifelong learning, and
reducing the digital literacy and skills
gap between generations. Furthermore, it
empowers the elderly to be more
informed, reduce the risk of cybercrime,
and participate in creating a safe and
livable digital
society.
